About
With Riggbee, I am excited to connect with new parents and caregivers. I became a mother in 2016 and found myself enthralled by my daughter Valerie but also longing to sustain my identity as a person. From others and from myself, the focus was almost exclusively on parenthood.
I learned quickly how to care for my baby, and without diminishing my concern and love for her, I started reconnecting with those moments and items that brought me joy. A moment to appreciate a painting. An immersive work session. A fine wine from a local vineyard. It was glorious.
In that time, I also discovered that for all our focus on raising baby, we do not often consider what products the parents might appreciate. “Not everything has to have ducks on it,” I found myself thinking regularly. If we have to equip ourselves for unique parenting needs like pacifiers and breastfeeding shields, we can certainly do so in a sophisticated style.
So, I humbly offer Riggbee as an inspiring alternative, that will consider the parent, and the person within the parent.

A few things about me:
- I am originally from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and live in Belmont, North Carolina with my husband Dan, daughter Valerie, and cat Max.
- I am proud of my career not only as an entrepreneur, but also in communications working for a global energy company.
- I love my gray hair and had my first strand at the age of 17; happily I have only been mistaken for Val’s grandmother once.
